Job summary

Motorola Solutions' Silvus Technologies unit seeks a Business Development Engineer to unify RF capabilities with Department of the Air Force requirements, bridging technical and customer needs. You will coordinate with Applications Engineering and BD teams to demonstrate interoperability of StreamCaster MANET radios across airborne, surface, and expeditionary environments.

Travel up to 50% for field tests and demonstrations is required, with remote work options depending on location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related C5ISR field with 2–5 years of demonstrated experience in systems engineering, technical business development, or defense technology roles.
• Exposure to Software-Defined Radios (SDRs), IP-based routing protocols, or tactical communication systems.
• Basic familiarity with RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers and signal generators.
• Security Clearance: Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or ability to obtain within 15 months.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts.
• All employment contingent upon successful clearance of a background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Assist in analyzing US Air Force priorities and mapping operational requirements to tactical radio solutions.
• Support technical planning, network configuration, and live field trials, modernizations, and evaluations.
• Collaborate with the Applications Engineering team to verify proposed architectures are technically sound.
• Maintain alignment with the BD team to support ongoing technical needs and strategic priorities.
• Assist in building and presenting technical demonstrations for airborne and expeditionary networking needs.
• Contribute technical input for RFI/RFP responses.
• Perform market research to identify potential integrations with industry partners.
