Job summary

Popular is seeking an AI Platform Engineering Lead to build and lead a secure, scalable AI platform function that enables enterprise AI adoption across the technology ecosystem. You will partner with Engineering, Architecture, Cybersecurity, Product, and Technology leaders to deliver AI-enabled solutions while ensuring governance and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate combines technical leadership with hands-on platform engineering in cloud-native environments, including LLM technologies

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Engineering, IT, Business Administration, or related discipline preferred.
• 8+ years in Software/Platform/Cloud/DevOps, SRE, or related disciplines.
• 2+ years with AI platforms, ML infrastructure, LLMs or related solutions.
• Experience deploying cloud-native solutions in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience leading technical teams and cross-functional initiatives.
• Regulated environments experience; secure software delivery practices.
• Experience with IaC, CI/CD, cloud automation, and modern software delivery practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing AI Platform Engineering team.
• Set objectives, standards, and career development plans for the team.
• Provide coaching and mentorship to AI platform engineers.
• Foster collaboration, innovation, and operational excellence.
• Define and execute the vision, roadmap, and strategy for AI platform services.
• Design, implement, and support enterprise AI platform capabilities.
• Lead integration of AI platforms and LLM services.
• Develop reusable platform components and automation frameworks.
• Ensure platform reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver enterprise AI capabilities.
