Job summary

Popular is seeking an AI Security Lead Engineer to design and operate enterprise-grade security controls for AI/ML solutions. You will partner across architecture, cloud platform, and DevSecOps teams to enable secure AI innovation and protect data, models, and decision systems.

You will lead security patterns, guardrails, and automation for AI pipelines, while supporting regulatory and privacy requirements and incident response readiness.

Qualifications

• 8-12+ years in cybersecurity, cloud security, or security engineering.
• 2+ years securing AI/ML, data platforms, or analytics.
• Experience designing and operating security controls in regulated environments (financial services preferred).
• Familiarity with Model Risk Management concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate security controls for AI/ML platforms and data pipelines across cloud and on‑prem environments.
• Enable monitoring, guardrails, and AI threat detection across deployments.
• Integrate AI security into CI/CD and DevSecOps workflows; act as escalation lead for AI incidents.
• Partner with SOC/IR and Enterprise Architecture to secure AI initiatives and data.
