Job summary

EY is seeking a senior designer to invent how people and AI work together, shaping interaction patterns for transparent and controllable AI systems. You will own the experience architecture and collaborate across product, engineering, AI, security, and research to deliver intuitive experiences that empower users while maintaining control.

Challenger Core develops reusable tools and guardrails; you will contribute to scalable design systems and responsive components.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant and applicable experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study.
• Portfolio of shipped interaction design, design engineering, frontend engineering, or HCI work showing both thinking and implementation.
• Production proficiency in modern web or application technologies, delivering responsive, performant components.
• Experience designing for AI, search, recommendation, automation, or another adaptive system.
• Practical command of semantic UI, WCAG, WAI-ARIA, keyboard interaction, and assistive-technology testing.

Responsibilities

• Define experience principles, interaction architecture, and reusable patterns for AI-assisted and agentic products.
• Conduct workflow research and usability testing with diverse users, including people who use assistive technologies.
• Build high-fidelity prototypes and accessible production components for the product’s web, application, conversational, or multimodal surfaces.
• Translate user intent into interaction specifications for clarification, uncertainty, memory, personalization, permissions, and action boundaries.
• Make plans, progress, evidence, tool activity, costs, and outcomes legible without overwhelming users.
• Design controls for preview, approval, interruption, edit, undo, retry, escalation, and human takeover.
