Job summary

EY is seeking a senior interaction designer to shape how people work with AI. You will own the interaction layer, translate user research into production-ready patterns, and collaborate across product, engineering, security, and research to deliver trustworthy experiences.

Challenger Core supports reusable tools and guardrails, with offices across the US. Travel up to 50% and a hybrid office presence are expected for the role.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant and applicable experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study.
• A portfolio of shipped interaction design, design engineering, frontend engineering, or HCI work showing both thinking and implementation.
• Production proficiency in modern web or application technologies, delivering responsive, performant components.
• Experience designing for AI, search, recommendation, automation, or another adaptive system.
• Practical command of semantic UI, WCAG, WAI-ARIA, keyboard interaction, and assistive-technology testing.
• Travel and On-site requirements: up to 50% travel and hybrid office presence.

Responsibilities

• Define experience principles, interaction architecture, and reusable patterns for AI-assisted products.
• Conduct workflow research and usability testing with diverse users, including assistive technologies.
• Build high-fidelity prototypes and accessible production components for web, app, conversational, or multimodal surfaces.
• Translate user intent into interaction specifications for clarification, uncertainty, memory, personalization, permissions, and action boundaries.
• Make plans, progress, and outcomes legible without overwhelming users.
• Design controls for preview, approval, interruption, edit, undo, retry, escalation, and human takeover.
• Measure task completion, effort, and trust, and partner with AI, platform, security, and evaluation specialists.
