Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking an Applied Data Scientist – AI Enablement to build internal AI capabilities and remove bottlenecks that limit scale across HDR’s Transportation Business Group.

The role starts internally and matures into client-facing delivery and advisory work, leveraging proven internal solutions as repeatable services. In this high-impact position, you will design, deploy, and monitor AI solutions, collaborate with IT and stakeholders, and continually improve data foundations and tooling

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a closely related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years of experience with data engineering tools and languages (SQL, Power Query, Pandas).
• 3+ years of experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Plotly, Seaborn, Matplotlib).
• 3+ years of experience with data science languages (Python, R).
• Experience with generative AI and modern AI services is preferred.
• Experience managing end-to-end data science projects and model lifecycles.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy AI solutions addressing internal transportation business needs.
• Build reusable AI components, data pipelines, and scalable workflows for client delivery.
• Manage full model lifecycle including development, deployment, monitoring, drift detection, retraining, and inference.
