Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking an Applied Data Scientist – AI Enablement to build internal AI capabilities and scalable data pipelines within HDR’s Transportation Business Group.

The role starts internally, then progresses to client-facing AI delivery and advisory work as capabilities mature. Responsibilities include designing, deploying, and monitoring AI solutions, identifying bottlenecks, and collaborating with IT and business stakeholders to scale AI capacity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a closely related field.
• 3+ years experience with data engineering tools and languages (SQL, Power Query, Pandas).
• 3+ years experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Plotly, Seaborn, Matplotlib).
• 3+ years experience with data science languages (Python, R).
• Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated with ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Build internal AI capabilities and scalable data pipelines.
• Develop, deploy, and monitor AI solutions across the organization.
• Identify bottlenecks and improve data and AI infrastructure.
• Collaborate with IT, data architects, and stakeholders on AI delivery.
