Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking an Applied Data Scientist – AI Enablement to help build internal AI capabilities within HDR’s Transportation Business Group. The role starts with developing AI solutions, improving data foundations, and removing bottlenecks to scale artificial intelligence across HDR.

You’ll work across IT, data teams, and business stakeholders to design reusable AI components, data pipelines, and production-ready models while preparing for future client-facing engagements and advisory work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a closely related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with generative AI and modern AI services.
• Hands-on experience deploying data and AI solutions in cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Internal AI Capability Development: design, develop, and deploy AI solutions addressing internal needs and build reusable components and data pipelines.
• Constraint & bottleneck identification: identify data availability and tooling gaps and work with stakeholders to propose scalable improvements.
• Collaboration & communication: translate ambiguous problems into AI solutions and communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Future client-facing work: support client pursuits and pilot projects using internal AI capabilities and services.
• Note: flexible to perform other duties as required.
