Job summary

Remitly is seeking a pragmatic, hands-on Security Technical Lead to join our Security & Privacy organization. You will lead by example, design and implement scalable security solutions and ship production code weekly with other S&P builders.

The role requires deep expertise in security engineering, AI development, and cloud security, plus the ability to mentor others and partner with engineering leaders to balance risk and innovation.

Qualifications

• Proven software engineering depth: built, operated, and led major production services at scale.
• Hands-on experience delivering production or open source software through agentic development, shipping code weekly.
• Built foundational security controls and automations using agent frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, and languages Python/Golang.
• Demonstrated ownership across security functions at orgs with 1,000+ users; security engineering, AI, and application security focus.
• Cloud-native security, IAM, cryptography, and data protection expertise to lead hard problems.

Responsibilities

• Set and demonstrate technical direction across security domains; define excellence across Remitly S&P.
• Build agentic platforms for S&P: agents, skills, tooling for security, identity, governance, and risk.
• Develop builders across job families to use agents and code to land outcomes.
• Advise engineering leaders and executives as a trusted security partner; uphold secure design standards.
• Ship features and controls at a fast cadence; automate processes and provisioning for new services.
• Navigate security vs business enablement tradeoffs; empower leaders to make principled risk decisions.
