McDermott Will & Schulte seeks a Knowledge & Innovation Counsel to advance AI and knowledge management across practice groups. You will curate expertise, guide tool usage, and partner with the Applied AI team to deploy solutions that enhance legal service delivery.

The role requires leadership in training, setting strategic direction, and mentoring junior attorneys or staff while aligning with firm-wide objectives and client needs.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited university.
• Substantive knowledge and practice experience aligned with the assigned practice area.
• Demonstrated interest in AI platforms and their application to legal work in the practice area.
• Experience with practice technology and knowledge platforms.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary point of contact for one or more practice groups, understanding workflows and knowledge gaps.
• Provide access to knowledge assets and practice solutions in daily work.
• Collaborate to identify high-value use cases and deploy AI/tech solutions.
• Guide attorneys on AI tools across matter lifecycles and tailor prompts/workflows.
• Lead training on substantive topics and AI tools to build confidence and adoption.
• Structure practice knowledge assets and precedents for efficient use by AI.
