Job summary

McDermott Will & Schulte in Washington, DC seeks a Knowledge & Innovation Counsel to lead AI and knowledge initiatives across assigned practice groups. You will guide attorneys on tools, curate practice knowledge, and drive adoption of innovative platforms throughout the matter lifecycle.

You will train teams, mentor colleagues, and partner with the Applied AI group to tailor solutions that boost efficiency, accuracy, and client service in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.

Qualifications

• Must hold a JD from an accredited university and have at least six years of practice or knowledge management experience.
• Demonstrated interest in AI platforms (e.g., Harvey, Claude, ChatGPT, CoCounsel, Copilot) and their legal applications.
• Ability to translate practice group needs into practical prompts, workflows, and guidance for attorneys.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for one or more practice groups, understanding workflows and needs.
• Lead training and enablement on AI tools, driving adoption and proficiency.
• Collaborate with attorneys and AI teams to design and deploy high-value solutions.
• Structure precedents and knowledge assets to support consistent, high-quality work.
