Job summary

McDermott Will & Schulte seeks a Knowledge & Innovation Counsel to advance AI and knowledge management across practice groups. The role combines knowledge management, solution development, user enablement, and hands-on support to drive adoption and measurable impact across practice groups.

The KIC will serve as the primary contact for assigned groups, guiding attorneys on AI tools (Harvey, Claude, ChatGPT, CoCounsel, Copilot) and practice-specific solutions, while shaping training and knowledge

Qualifications

JD from an accredited university and 6+ years of practice or knowledge management experience.
Experience with AI platforms and knowledge management in a legal context.
Ability to translate practice group needs into concrete AI/tool requirements.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point of contact for one or more assigned practice groups.
Lead training sessions on AI tools and knowledge management practices.
Structure and curate precedents, playbooks, and institutional knowledge.
Guide attorneys on AI tools across matter lifecycles and customize prompts/workflows.
Collaborate with IT and Applied AI teams to design and deploy solutions.
