Job summary

General Motors Corporation is seeking an engineering leader who still writes code. You will lead multiple teams across platforms, APIs, and modernization programs behind how GM sources parts and delivers vehicles.

You'll stay hands-on with coding, reviews, debugging, prototyping, and working with AI agents. You will drive modernization of legacy systems, deploy AI tooling in the SDLC, and measure success with real metrics.

Qualifications

• 10+ years software engineering and leadership experience.
• Experience with distributed systems and APIs.
• Hands-on coding in Java or C++, and front-end familiarity.
• Proven ability to lead across ambiguity and influence stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple teams across platforms, APIs, and legacy systems.
• Translate business needs into scalable engineering solutions with KPIs.
• Set high standards for quality, security, and reliability.
• Drive modernization and AI tooling across the SDLC.
• Conduct code reviews, debugging, and proofs of concept.
• Own incident response and post-mortems to durable fixes.
