Job summary

General Motors LLC in Austin is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to independently drive design, development, and delivery of robust software solutions in a scaled Agile environment, with a focus on automation, AI enablement, and platform modernization.

You will lead complex systems, implement scalable data architectures, and contribute to cloud-native microservices while guiding SAFe practices and end-to-end lifecycle delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, backend focus.
• Proficiency in Java, Python for production-grade services.
• Hands-on experience with Azure cloud services.
• Experience designing REST APIs and event-driven architectures.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of complex software systems with minimal guidance.
• Drive automation strategy across development, testing, and deployment pipelines.
• Enable and integrate AI-driven capabilities into applications and platforms.
• Define scalable data architecture solutions for analytics and AI use cases.
• Lead modernization initiatives toward cloud-native microservices.
• Own the full SDLC from requirements to production support.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering excellence.
