You will drive AI coding agent adoption, set roadmaps, and measure impact with metrics. The role blends architecture, hands-on coding, and leadership to create durable, scalable software that powers GM's software factories.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience and people leadership.
• Hands-on coding proficiency in Java or C++, with frontend frameworks like Angular or React.
• At least 1 year of substantial hands-on use of AI coding agents in production work.
• Experience with distributed systems, APIs, event-driven architectures, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Experience modernizing legacy systems while supporting critical delivery.
• Ability to lead across ambiguity and influence senior stakeholders.
• Strong coaching and mentoring capabilities; clear technical communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple engineering teams across platforms, APIs, integrations, and legacy systems.
• Translate business needs into roadmaps and KPIs; ensure delivery.
• Make architectural calls and enforce quality, security, and reliability standards.
• Roll out AI coding agents across SDLC with guardrails for safe code delivery.
• Drive modernization, decomposition, and reduction of technical debt.
• Hire and grow engineers; foster accountability and continuous learning.
• Own production health through incident response and durable fixes.
