Job summary

trg. recruitment is hiring a Customer Operations Partner to join a high-growth, venture-backed B2B software company. You will own a portfolio of customer accounts from onboarding to daily operations, including supplier interactions and order handling.

You will spend significant time prompting and improving AI agents and will be trusted with real commercial and financial decisions, not just admin, in a Chicago-based role with cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in a role managing multiple stakeholders and processes (e.g., Customer Success, Operations, Account Management, Purchasing, Logistics).
• Comfort with real commercial conversations: negotiating price or owning a credit decision.
• Familiarity with AI tools like Claude or ChatGPT in day-to-day work and ideally automating workflows.
• Exposure to food, consumer goods, or supply chain/logistics is a bonus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Own your accounts: be the go-to contact for a portfolio of customers, handling inquiries on orders, deliveries, payments and the platform.
• Engage in commercial & financial activities: speak with suppliers on pricing and terms; manage credit limits and freight as needed.
• Prompt, configure and maintain AI agents that run routine workflows across your accounts; know when to intervene manually.
• Investigate root causes of delivery and quality exceptions; maintain compliance and certification documents; support new services.
• Monitor key metrics (OTIF, invoice accuracy, payment turnaround, onboarding cycle) and drive process improvements with cross-functional teams.
