Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Engineer to embed with Compliance, building and scaling AI-powered workflows across regulatory processes. You will prototype, evaluate, and deploy LLM-based solutions, collaborating with Compliance leadership and engineering teams.

This role emphasizes responsible AI, auditability, and human-in-the-loop controls, with a remote-first environment and quarterly in-person surges. Excellent communication and stakeholder management are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience delivering production systems in complex environments.
• Hands‑on experience deploying LLM-based applications, prompt engineering, evaluation frameworks, and human‑in‑the‑loop design for high-stakes outputs.
• Ability to translate regulatory workflows into concrete engineering requirements and constraints.

Responsibilities

• Embed with Compliance leadership and frontline teams to surface automation opportunities with high business leverage.
• Prototype quickly using Coinbase's AI platform as the baseline before building new solutions.
• Own the Compliance automation roadmap with Compliance leadership and translate workflows into engineering requirements.
• Define build-vs-buy strategy for Compliance tooling and determine what to build, buy, or retire.
• Ensure automated outputs are auditable, reviewable, and defensible to regulators with proper controls.
• Drive adoption through internal demos and iterative feedback with Compliance teams.
