Job summary

Farmers Insurance is seeking an entrepreneurial and motivated Agent in Training who aims to build a long-term career in the insurance industry. This role offers hands-on experience in sales, client relationships, agency operations, and business development while preparing for leadership or ownership within the Farmers system.

The position provides Paid Training that converts into a competitive base salary plus commissions and performance-based bonuses.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; college degree or prior sales, customer service, or leadership experience preferred.
• Active Michigan Property & Casualty and Life, Accident & Health licenses or willingness to obtain them.
• Willing to complete pre-licensing education (free pre-licensing support available) to meet state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Generate new business through a mix of inbound and outbound sales activities (phone, text, email, and virtual outreach).
• Conduct cold and warm calling to prospective customers, referral sources, and prior leads to build a consistent sales pipeline.
• Follow up on incoming leads, inquiries, and walk-in prospects to identify coverage needs and close opportunities.
• Build relationships within the community by attending local events, networking, and developing referral partnerships.
