Robinhood is seeking an experienced Assistant General Counsel, Credit Cards to lead product counsel for its retail credit and banking initiatives. You’ll oversee regulatory compliance, draft consumer agreements, and partner with product, engineering, and compliance teams on launches.

This role is based in Menlo Park, CA; New York, NY; or Washington, DC, with in-person attendance required at least 3 days a week, and offers a market-competitive base pay and equity.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active U.S. State Bar membership in good standing.
• 7+ years in law firm, government, fintech, or tech company.
• Knowledge of consumer lending and credit card laws (TILA, ECOA, FCRA, FDCPA).
• Knowledge of consumer banking laws (EFTA, TSA, EFTA).
• Experience with CFPB rules and payments regulatory issues.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end counseling on retail products including payments, credit cards and banking-related products.
• Coordinate with team and outside counsel to deliver practical, timely advice.
• Identify and mitigate business and legal risks while supporting product goals.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Advise on, review, and draft consumer agreements for new products.
• Develop trusted relationships to launch new products and features.
• Be a business partner and proactive product owner, not just a lawyer.
• Pitch in on other legal work as needed.
