YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking an Afterschool Site Lead to manage a licensed school-age enrichment program, ensuring safety, licensing compliance, and engaging families and partners. You will implement the YMCA curriculum, supervise staff, and coordinate daily operations to deliver high-quality youth programming.

You will lead program planning, safety drills, and family communication while maintaining records and ensuring a nurturing, inclusive environment for children.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED with 70 clock hours of training in child or youth development, recreational leadership or management; Two college courses are equivalent to 100 clock hours.
• At least one year of experience working with youth in a licensed childcare facility, school, church, or similar setting
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention certifications (or ability to obtain)
• Ability to plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate activities and programming
• Experience working with diverse populations
• Ability to pass state and local background checks and FBI fingerprinting requirements
• Current TB test and any required health screenings or immunizations per state and local regulations

Responsabilités

• Keep Children Safe: create a physically and emotionally safe environment with proper supervision and attendance records.
• Site Management: oversee daily operations and licensing compliance for the afterschool program.
• Supervision and Safety: maintain records, monitor activities, and respond to emergencies following YMCA policies.
• Behavior Management: implement positive behavior management techniques.
• Program & Policy Compliance: conduct safety drills, ensure postings, and follow health and safety policies.
• Program Planning and Implementation: oversee age-appropriate activities per YMCA curriculum.
• Parent and Community Engagement: communicate regularly with parents about progress and concerns.
• Administrative Duties: maintain enrollment and attendance records.
• Program Growth and Retention: develop strategies to grow enrollment and retention.
• Program Quality: plan and implement curriculum-adherent activities.
• Program Evaluation: lead YPQ interventions and monitor participation.
• Child Abuse Prevention: report concerns and ensure secure access; follow reporting requirements.
