Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is hiring an Afterschool Site Lead to manage a licensed school-age enrichment program, ensuring safety, engagement, and licensing compliance. You will coordinate daily operations, implement YMCA curriculum, and build strong relationships with families, school partners, and YMCA staff.

Responsibilities include staffing, documentation, safety drills, program planning, and community engagement while maintaining high standards of care and safety for all children.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age and fit for active leadership roles.
• HS diploma or GED with 70 clock hours of youth development training.
• 1+ year of experience with youth in licensed settings.
• CPR, First Aid, AED and child abuse prevention certifications.
• Ability to plan age-appropriate activities and manage programs.
• Able to pass state/local background checks and health screenings.

Responsibilities

• Lead licensed school-age enrichment program and ensure safety, engagement, and licensing compliance.
• Coordinate daily operations, staffing, activity centers, and cleanup.
• Maintain attendance, incident reports, and program documentation.
• Implement YMCA curriculum and foster family and school partnerships.
• Lead safety drills, health, and sanitation standards adherence.
• Plan age-appropriate activities and monitor behavior positively.
• Communicate with parents about progress and concerns.
