Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking an Afterschool Site Lead to manage licensed school‑age programs, ensuring safety, engagement, and high‑quality activities for children. You will coordinate operations, implement YMCA curriculum, and maintain compliance with licensing standards.

Ideal candidates bring 1+ year of youth experience, CPR/First Aid/ AED, and the ability to engage families and partners. This is a part‑time role with locations in Houston ISDs and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED; 70 clock hours training in child or youth development, or equivalent college coursework.
• At least one year of experience with youth in a licensed childcare facility, school, church, or similar setting.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention certifications (or ability to obtain).
• Ability to plan, organize, and implement age‑appropriate activities and programming.
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Ability to pass state and FBI background checks and fingerprinting requirements.
• Current TB test and any required health screenings or immunizations per state and local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead a licensed school‑age enrichment program safely and engagingly.
• Coordinate daily operations and activities per YMCA curriculum.
• Ensure licensing compliance and maintain documentation.
• Maintain enrollment and attendance records.
• Engage with families, school partners, and YMCA staff.
• Monitor safety and conduct regular headcounts.
