Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking an Afterschool Site Lead to lead school-age enrichment programs. This role ensures that children are engaged and safe in a nurturing environment while performing essential management tasks.

Successful candidates will have experience with youth development, strong leadership skills, and the ability to work with diverse populations. This position offers flexible scheduling and opportunities for professional growth within a mission-driven organization.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age.
• Minimum of 70 clock hours of training in child/youth development.
• One year of experience in a licensed childcare facility.
• CPR, First Aid, and Child Abuse Prevention certifications (or ability to obtain).
• Ability to lead and engage children in activities.
• Experience with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe and engaging environment for children.
• Coordinate daily operations of the afterschool program.
• Implement age-appropriate activities and curriculum.
• Manage site compliance with licensing and policies.
• Communicate with parents about children's progress.
