Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is hiring for an Afterschool Site Lead to oversee licensed school-age programs in Katy ISD, Conroe ISD, and Humble ISD. You will manage daily operations, ensure safety, implement YMCA curriculum, and build strong family partnerships.

Earn an additional $3.00 per hour during the temporary stipend period; role emphasizes youth development, safety, and program excellence while serving the community.

Qualifications

• 21+ years of age or older.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Minimum 70 clock hours of training in child or youth development, recreational leadership, or management.
• Two college courses are equivalent to 100 clock hours.
• At least one year of experience working with youth in a licensed setting.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention certifications (or ability to obtain).
• Ability to pass state and local background checks and FBI fingerprinting requirements.
• Current TB test and any required health screenings or immunizations per state and local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Keep children safe with supervision, attendance, and emergency response.
• Site management and licensing compliance; oversee program operations.
• Supervision and safety of children and staff; maintain records and inspections.
• Behavior management to promote respectful, inclusive environment.
• Program planning, policy compliance, safety, and cleanliness.
• Parent and community engagement; communicate progress and concerns.
• Administrative duties: enrollments, attendance, rosters.
• Program growth, retention strategies, and enrollment analysis.
• Program quality: implement YMCA curriculum and activities; assess effectiveness.
• Program evaluation and continuous improvement.
• Child abuse prevention: report concerns and follow policy.
