Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking an Afterschool Site Lead for licensed school-age programs serving Katy ISD, Conroe ISD, and Humble ISD. The role leads daily operations, ensures safety and engagement, and coordinates with families and partners.

Participants will manage program quality, schedules, and compliance while building strong community ties. A temporary $3.00 per hour stipend applies to eligible locations.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• HS diploma or GED with required clock hours in youth development or related field.
• At least 1 year of youth experience in a licensed setting.
• CPR/First Aid/AED and Child Abuse Prevention certifications (or ability to obtain).
• Plan and organize age-appropriate activities and programming.
• Experience with diverse populations.
• Pass state/local background checks and FBI fingerprinting.
• TB test and health screenings/immunizations per regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead licensed afterschool program ensuring safety and engagement.
• Coordinate daily operations and YMCA curriculum implementation.
• Maintain licensing compliance and relationships with families and partners.
• Maintain attendance records, incident reports, and compliance docs.
• Supervise staff and respond to emergencies per policy.
• Plan activities, evaluate program effectiveness and adjust as needed.
• Communicate with parents about progress and concerns.
• Maintain enrollment and attendance records.
• Support growth, retention, and program quality initiatives.
• Lead program quality evaluations (YPQ) and improvements.
• Ensure confidentiality and health/safety standards.
