Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking an Afterschool Site Lead for the Katy area. This part-time role leads a licensed school-age program inBefore/After School settings, ensuring safety, engagement, and quality delivery across licensed sites in Katy ISD, Conroe ISD, and Humble ISD.

A $3.00 per hour stipend is temporarily offered for eligible locations. You will manage daily operations, supervise staff, coordinate activities, and maintain licensing compliance while fostering strong family and school

Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED; 70 clock hours of training in child/youth development.
• One year of experience with youth in a licensed facility.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications (or ability to obtain).
• Ability to plan age-appropriate activities and programming.
• Ability to pass state and local background checks and FBI fingerprinting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Keep children safe and supervised; maintain attendance records and safety compliance.
• Serve as designated Texas Licensing Site Director; manage daily afterschool operations.
• Ensure safety and security of children and staff; monitor activities and adherence to policies.
• Apply positive behavior management techniques to promote a respectful environment.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities per YMCA curriculum and quality standards.
• Engage with parents and the community; communicate progress and concerns.
• Maintain enrollment and attendance records; sign-in sheets and rosters.
• Develop strategies for program growth, enrollment, and retention.
• Oversee program quality and evaluation; conduct safety drills and inspections.
• Follow child protection and confidentiality policies; report concerns to the Director.
