Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking an Afterschool Site Lead to manage a licensed school-age enrichment program in Katy, TX. You will ensure safety, engagement, and high-quality activities aligned with YMCA curriculum while maintaining compliance and strong community partnerships.

You’ll coordinate operations, supervise staff, and communicate with families to support children’s growth in a dynamic, community-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; minimum 70 clock hours of training in child or youth development, recreational leadership or management.
• At least one year of experience working with youth in a licensed childcare facility, school, church, or similar setting.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention certifications (or ability to obtain).
• Ability to plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate activities and programming.
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Pass state and local background checks and FBI fingerprinting requirements.
• Current TB test and any required health screenings or immunizations per state and local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead a licensed school-age enrichment program, ensuring safety, support, and engagement.
• Coordinate daily program operations and implement YMCA curriculum.
• Ensure licensing compliance and strong relationships with families, school partners, and staff.
• Maintain enrollment, attendance records, and program quality.
• Communicate with parents about progress and concerns; manage program planning and growth.
