Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking an Afterschool Site Lead for licensed school-age enrichment programs serving Katy ISD, Conroe ISD, and Humble ISD. You will lead program operations, ensure safety, license compliance, and strong family partnerships in a dynamic before/after school setting.

The role emphasizes youth development, safety, and program excellence, with responsibilities spanning daily operations, curriculum implementation, and community engagement, in a part-time schedule aligned

Qualifications

At least 21 years of age.
HS diploma or GED; 70 clock hours of training in child or youth development, recreation leadership or management; 2 college courses equal 100 clock hours.
At least one year of experience working with youth in a licensed childcare facility, school, church, or similar setting
CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention certifications (or ability to obtain)
Ability to plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate activities
Experience working with diverse populations
Ability to pass state and local background checks and FBI fingerprinting requirements
Current TB test and health screenings or immunizations per state/local regulations

Responsibilities

Keep Children Safe: create a safe environment; supervision, attendance, emergencies per policies.
Site Management: oversee daily operations; licensing compliance; set-up/breakdown of activity centers.
Supervision and Safety: maintain records; monitor activities and staff adherence; conduct headcounts.
Behavior Management: use positive discipline; calm, constructive approaches.
Program & Policy Compliance: safety drills, postings; health, safety, confidentiality policies.
Program Planning and Implementation: oversee age-appropriate activities; adapt to needs.
Parent and Community Engagement: communicate with parents; address inquiries.
Administrative Duties: maintain enrollment and attendance records.
Program Growth and Retention: promote enrollment; retention strategies.
Program Quality: plan/implement curriculum per YMCA model and standards.
Program Evaluation: lead YPQ interventions; monitor participation.
Child Abuse Prevention: report concerns; ensure secure access to facilities
