Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking an Afterschool Site Lead in Katy, TX. This part-time role serves as the primary leader for a licensed school-age program, ensuring children are safe, engaged, and well-supported each day.

You will coordinate daily operations, implement the YMCA curriculum, and maintain attendance records, while building strong relationships with families, school partners, and YMCA staff. A temporary $3/hour stipend applies to eligible locations serving Katy ISD, Conroe ISD, and

Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED; 70 clock hours of training in child/youth development; 2 college courses equivalent to 100 clock hours.
• At least one year of experience with youth in a licensed setting.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention certifications (or ability to obtain).
• Ability to plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate activities.
• Pass state/local background checks and FBI fingerprinting; TB test and health regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead licensed school-age enrichment program; ensure safety and engagement.
• Coordinate daily operations; implement YMCA curriculum; ensure licensing compliance.
• Build relationships with families, school partners, and staff.
• Maintain enrollment and attendance records; sign-in/out process.
• Plan age-appropriate activities; evaluate and adjust as needed.
• Ensure program safety drills, cleanliness, and policy compliance.
