Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking an Afterschool Site Lead in Katy, TX for a licensed school-age enrichment program. You will ensure safety, coordinate daily operations, and implement the YMCA curriculum while building strong relationships with families and partners.

This is a part-time role with a base of $14 per hour plus a temporary $3 per hour stipend for eligible locations. You will supervise staff, maintain records, and ensure licensing compliance.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age.
• 70 clock hours of training in child/youth development, recreational leadership, or management; 2 college courses = 100 clock hours.
• At least one year of experience with youth in a licensed childcare setting.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention certifications (or ability to obtain).
• Ability to plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate activities and programming.
• Experience with diverse populations.
• Background checks and TB health screenings as required.

Responsibilities

• Keep children safe with supervision, headcounts, attendance, and emergency response per policies.
• Serve as Texas Childcare Licensing Site Director, oversee daily afterschool operations and site equipment.
• Ensure safety and security; maintain attendance and incident records; monitor staff.
• Implement positive behavior management to promote a respectful environment.
• Ensure licensing and organizational policy compliance; maintain clean, organized spaces.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities within YMCA curriculum.
• Communicate with parents about progress and concerns; handle inquiries professionally.
• Maintain enrollment and attendance records; rosters and sign-in sheets.
• Develop strategies for program growth and retention; analyze enrollment trends.
• Lead program quality efforts and evaluations; ensure safety and standards.
• Report concerns to Program Director and uphold child abuse prevention policies.
