Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking an Afterschool Site Lead for a part-time role in Katy, Texas. You will oversee a licensed afterschool program, ensure children’s safety, implement the YMCA curriculum, and maintain licensing compliance while building relationships with families and schools.

Responsibilities include daily operations, activity planning, and alumni program growth, with emphasis on child protection, health, and safety.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED with required trainings.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications (or ability to obtain).
• Experience working with youth in licensed childcare, school, church, or similar setting.

Responsibilities

• Keep Children Safe by maintaining a safe environment and accurate attendance records.
• Site Management as Texas licensing Site Director for the afterschool program.
• Supervision and Safety including record-keeping and incident reporting.
• Behavior Management using positive approaches to promote inclusion.
• Program & Policy Compliance with safety drills, postings, and confidentiality.
• Program Planning and Implementation of age-appropriate activities and curriculum.
• Parent and Community Engagement with regular communication with families.
• Administrative Duties including enrollment and attendance records.
• Program Growth and Retention strategies to boost enrollment and retention.
• Program Quality and Evaluation to monitor participation and outcomes.
• Child Abuse Prevention and compliance with reporting requirements.
