Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a Site Director for its afterschool program in Texas. You will lead daily operations, ensure safety and quality experiences for children, and supervise staff to uphold YMCA standards.

Responsibilities include licensing compliance, program planning, parent communication, and enrollment management, with a focus on growth and continuous improvement across the youth development program.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED with 70 clock hours of training in child or youth development.
• Minimum 1 year experience working with youth at a licensed facility, church, school or equivalent.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention trainings.
• Ability to plan, organize, and implement age‑appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
• Previous experience with diverse populations.
• Previous experience supervising others preferred.
• Current record of tuberculosis examination and/or local health department regulations, examinations, and/or immunization as required.
• Pass a local/state background and FBI fingerprinting check.

Responsibilities

• Site management of the afterschool program per regulatory standards.
• Ensure safety and supervision of children and staff.
• Implement positive behavior management techniques.
• Ensure licensing compliance and adherence to policies.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities.
• Engage with parents and community; communicate progress.
• Maintain enrollment and attendance records.
• Develop growth and retention strategies.
• Lead program quality and evaluation activities.
• Report concerns to Program Director.
