Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a Part‑time Site Director for the afterschool program in Houston, TX. You will oversee daily operations, ensure safety, manage attendance and compliance with licensing standards, and implement the YMCA curriculum focusing on youth development and core values.

You will lead activity planning, supervise staff, engage families, and monitor program quality and retention, while maintaining a nurturing environment for children.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older.
• High school diploma or GED with 70 clock hours in child/youth development or equivalent.
• At least 1 year experience with youth at a licensed facility, church, school or equivalent.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention trainings.
• Ability to plan and implement age-appropriate activities.
• Experience with diverse populations.
• Background check and TB screening per policy.

Responsibilities

• Oversee site management and daily operations of afterschool program.
• Maintain safety, attendance records, incidents, and licensing compliance.
• Implement positive behavior management and age-appropriate activities.
• Ensure program and health/safety policies and postings are followed.
• Plan, implement and evaluate age-appropriate activities per curriculum.
• Engage parents and community; address inquiries professionally.
• Maintain enrollment records and support program growth and retention.
• Lead program quality initiatives and evaluations; monitor outcomes.
• Ensure confidentiality and child protection policies are followed.
