Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a part-time Site Director for the afterschool program. You will manage the site, ensure safety, monitor licensing compliance, and lead age-appropriate activities aligned with the YMCA curriculum.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, maintaining records, communicating with parents, and supporting program growth while adhering to health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 21 years of age or older
• High school diploma or GED, with training in child/youth development or management
• 1 year of experience with youth at licensed facility/school/church
• CPR, First Aid, AED required, child abuse prevention training
• Ability to plan and implement age-appropriate activities
• Experience with diverse populations
• Supervisory experience preferred
• TB test and health requirements per local/state rules
• Background/FBI fingerprint clearance

Responsibilities

• Site management and compliance with YMCA Houston and Texas regulations
• Monitor safety, attendance, incident reports and licensing records
• Lead age-appropriate activities and monitor behavior
• Conduct safety drills and inspections, ensure postings and policies are followed
• Plan and implement age-appropriate curricula and activities
• Communicate with parents about progress and concerns
• Maintain enrollment records and rosters
• Support program growth and enrollment efforts
• Lead program quality and evaluation processes
• Report concerns to Program Director in a timely manner
