Job summary

Think Together is seeking a Substitute Program Leader in California for a part-time role that works across multiple sites. You will mentor students, deliver enrichment activities, and support teachers with lesson plans while maintaining a safe, positive learning environment.

You’ll be responsible for encouraging good behavior, supervising activities, and ensuring attendance and sign-in/sign-out procedures are followed. This position requires dedication and reliable daily availability.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young children.
• Ability to speak and write standard English.
• Availability five days a week (Mon-Fri).
• Program runs roughly 1:00 PM–6:00 PM; times may vary with school schedules.

Responsibilities

• Provide homework assistance, academic enrichment and physical activity using provided curriculum.
• Create an engaging environment that fosters belonging for students.
• Support students in positive behavior choices and administer disciplinary measures when appropriate.
• Engage children by following and helping implement lesson plans.
• Ensure student safety through setup, teardown and site maintenance.
• Promote positive interactions between volunteers and students per safety guidelines.
• Take attendance and manage sign-in/sign-out to maintain student safety.
• Identify student needs and communicate with Site Coordinator, teachers and parents.
• Commit to a full-year program with punctuality and accurate timecards.
• Participate in staff development activities.
