Job summary

Think Together is seeking a Substitute Program Leader in California who will work part-time across various sites to support students with homework help, enrichment activities, and safe, supportive supervision. Qualifications

• Experience working with young children.
• Proof of graduation from High School or GED.
• 48 college semester units or 60 college quarter units or passing an Instructional Aide Test.
• Ability to speak and write standard English.
• Must be available at least 3 days a week (Mon-Fri).
• Program times roughly 1:00 PM–6:00 PM; times may vary with minimum day schedules.

Responsibilities

• Provide homework assistance, academic enrichment and physical activity using program curriculum and materials.
• Create an engaging environment that fosters a sense of belonging for kids.
• Support students in making positive behavior choices and take disciplinary actions when appropriate.
• Engage children by following, implementing, and assisting in lesson plans.
• Ensure student safety by setting up, breaking down, and maintaining sites.
• Promote positive interactions between volunteers and students in line with child safety guidelines.
• Maintain student safety by taking roll and reviewing sign-in/sign-out for students and volunteers.
• Identify student needs and communicate with Site Coordinator, teachers, school administration, parents, and volunteers as appropriate.
• Commit to a full-year program by arriving on time daily and completing time cards.
• Participate in staff development activities.
