Job summary

Think Together is seeking Substitute Program Leaders for a part-time role across regional sites. You will work with a group of students, provide homework help, academic enrichment, and physical activity using the program curriculum, and create an engaging environment where kids feel they belong.

Responsibilities include supporting positive behavior choices, following lesson plans, ensuring safety, and communicating student needs to site staff.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young children and the ability to inspire and motivate.
• Proof of graduation from High School or GED required.
• 48 college units or 60 college quarter units required.
• Ability to speak and write standard English in a public school setting.
• Available at least 5 days a week (Mon-Fri).
• Program times roughly 1:00 PM–6:00 PM; times may vary by site.

Responsibilities

• Provide homework assistance, academic enrichment and physical activity using provided curriculum.
• Create an engaging environment that fosters belonging for kids.
• Support students in making positive behavior choices; discipline as needed.
• Engage children by following lesson plans and activities.
• Ensure student safety by assisting with setup, breakdown and site maintenance.
• Promote positive interactions between volunteers and students per safety guidelines.
• Maintain student safety by taking roll and sign-ins/outs.
• Identify student needs and communicate with Site Coordinator and staff.
• Commit to a full-year program with punctuality and accurate time cards.
• Participate in staff development activities.
