Job summary

Think Together in California is seeking a Substitute Program Leader to support students after school. This part-time role involves leading a small group, delivering homework help, enrichment activities, and promoting safe, positive behavior.

You will work at various sites within the region, with afternoon hours roughly 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and you must pass Live Scan, TB test, and background checks. A high school diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 48 college semester units or 60 college quarter units or passing Instructional Aide Test may be required in some districts.
• Ability to speak and write standard English in a public school setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide homework assistance, academic enrichment and physical activity using program materials.
• Create an engaging environment that fosters a sense of belonging for students.
• Support students in making positive behavior choices and apply disciplinary measures when needed.
• Engage children by following, implementing, and helping create lesson plans.
• Ensure student safety by assisting in setup, break down, and ongoing site maintenance.
• Promote positive interactions between volunteers and students per child safety guidelines.
• Maintain student safety by taking roll and reviewing sign-in/sign-outs.
• Identify student needs and communicate with Site Coordinator, teachers, school administration, parents, and volunteers.
• Commit to a full-year program with punctual attendance and accurate time cards.
• Participate in staff development activities.
