Job summary

Cherry Creek School District in Colorado is seeking an On-Call or permanent Before and After School Leader to assist the program director in planning and implementing a high-quality child care program. You will help cultivate positive relationships with families and school staff while supporting daily operations and programming.

You will work under the Educational Support Personnel pay plan, following licensing requirements and contributing to lesson planning, safety, and program enrichment.

Qualifications

• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
• The Before and After School Leader must be age 18 or over
• A Leader must demonstrate ability to work with children, and must have completed at least one of the following qualifications:
• Must have at least three months (455 hours) of verified experience in the care and supervision of four or more children over the ages of four
• A current early childhood professional credential level I one or higher in version 3.0 as determined by the Department
• Each year, June 1 through May 31, the leader must complete at least 15 clock hours of training
• Knowledge of most aspects of childcare
• Ability to develop and utilize appropriate discipline procedures
• Some leadership and management skill
• Ability to make appropriate decisions and to solve problems effectively
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Current CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days

Responsibilities

• Follows and enforces all Colorado Department of Early Childhood licensing requirements.
• Works directly and actively supervises and engages with students during times they are present in the program.
• Exhibits excellent communication with parents, students, school staff, district staff and co-workers.
• Maintains safe conditions for all students and staff.
• Promotes and markets the program for before and after care and full days.
• Assists to implement quality lesson plans for every day the program is in operation.
• Assists with maintenance, proper storage, and repair of equipment and supplies.
• Creates and implements activities and field trips for full day programming.
• Attend monthly program staff meetings as required by director.
