Job summary

LACOE Expanded is seeking a part-time Program Leader in Los Angeles to support after-school enrichment for K-12 students. You will help plan activities, supervise sessions, and ensure a safe, engaging environment under the Program Coordinator’s guidance.

The role requires 18+, fingerprint and TB clearance, and the ability to work evenings or weekends as needed. Fluency in another language is highly desirable and encouraged.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students in grades K-12 in after-school, recreation, or educational settings.
• Ability to work cooperatively with School District staff, parents, and community leaders.
• Familiarity with quality criteria for after-school programs.
• Ability to communicate effectively and respond to incidents in emergencies.
• Must be 18 years old and eligible to work.
• Fingerprint clearance and TB test clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Lead or assist in planning and delivering daily after-school activities.
• Maintain a 20:1 student ratio through recruitment and retention.
• Build positive relationships with youth, guardians, and school staff.
• Provide attendance data and program progress to supervisor as required.
• Prepare supplies and create a creative learning environment.
• Supervise activities to ensure safety and engagement; travel to events as needed.
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
