Job summary

LACOE Expanded's Part Time LALA HS program in Los Angeles, CA seeks a Program Leader to provide leadership and support in academic, cultural and recreational enrichment under the ASAS-LA Program Coordinator.

The role requires experience with students in grades K-12, strong communication, ability to maintain a 20:1 ratio, and willingness to work afternoon hours with TB test clearance and travel to multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students in grades K-12 in recreational, educational and/or community youth outreach setting.
• Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate sensitivity to others as well as respond to critical incidents and act swiftly in an emergency situation.
• Must be 18 years of age and have completed required exams or education as listed in qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist in planning and implementing the daily after-school program under supervision.
• Maintain a 20:1 student ratio using recruitment and retention strategies.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with youth, guardians and school staff.
• Ensure safety and supervise students during program activities.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in professional development.
