Job summary

YMCA of Catawba Valley is seeking a Group Leader to supervise a group of children in before/after school and summer programs. You will help maintain the environment, implement engaging activities, and support the program coordinator.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; further education is a plus.
• Experience with children in group settings is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of child development and safety practices is expected.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement a variety of educational, recreational, and enrichment activities for children.
• Supervise children at all times to ensure their safety and well-being and enforce program rules.
• Communicate regularly with the program coordinator and collaborate with staff to deliver cohesive programming.
• Maintain accurate attendance and incident records; assist in reporting as needed.
• Support and mentor new staff and participate in monthly staff meetings.
