Job summary

YMCA of Greater Seattle is seeking part-time BASE lead instructors to guide elementary-age participants through sports, arts, STEM, and hands-on learning. You will support the program supervisor, promote teamwork and social-emotional learning, and help run Play Everyday programs during the school day.

Locations include West Seattle, Roxhill, Concord, Boren STEM, Arbor Heights, and Fairmount Park Elementary.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience with children in camps, child care, or related settings.
• CPR/First Aid certification required or obtained prior to start.
• STARS training is required or will be provided before/during employment.

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements activities within the Y established curriculum, culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate.
• Supervises children to ensure health, safety, and a positive experience for each child.
• May guide staff/volunteers overseeing groups of children.
• Communicates day-to-day information with parents/guardians.
• Follows YMCA policies, including medical and safety procedures.
• Maintains site appearance, décor and cleanliness and assists with snack preparation.
