Job summary

Gentiva Hospice is seeking an After Hours RN to provide compassionate, patient-centered care in Goldsboro, NC. You will support patients and families during evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, coordinating with the interdisciplinary team to implement the plan of care.

This full-time position requires an active RN license, 1+ year nursing experience, and CPR certification. Travel to patient homes is common, and the role emphasizes empathy, clinical judgment, and documentation in EMR.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of employment.
• 1+ years of nursing experience.
• Hospice mindset with compassionate, calm conduct in urgent care.
• Excellent clinical judgment and emotional support in intense settings.
• Comfort delivering care in patients' homes or wherever they reside.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and support after hours.
• Serve as primary liaison between patients, families, physicians, and the hospice team.
• Respond promptly to urgent calls, visits, and symptom management needs.
• Document visits and communications accurately in EMR.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team and participate in QA and PI programs.
• Promote continuity of care and coordinate with daytime team.
