Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace in Tempe, AZ is seeking an Advanced Aerospace Systems Engineer to help develop flight-critical actuation systems and translate electronic commands into precise mechanical motion.

You’ll collaborate with mechanical, electrical, controls, software, and test engineers to deliver integrated aerospace systems for primary and secondary flight controls, electro-mechanical actuators, and related subsystems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
• Minimum of 3 years of Electro-mechanical Systems Engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform system requirements analysis, decomposition, allocation, and traceability for complex aerospace actuation systems.
• Develop and integrate electro-mechanical actuation systems used in flight control applications.
• Support architecture development and system-level design trade studies.
• Develop physics-based models of actuators, motors, power transmission systems, sensors, and control systems.
• Analyze system performance, stability, dynamic response, reliability, and failure modes.
• Design and evaluate control architectures supporting flight-critical applications.
• Conduct modeling and simulation activities using tools such as MATLAB/Simulink and related platforms.
• Lead root cause investigations and corrective action implementation for complex technical issues.
