Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace in Tempe, AZ is seeking an Advanced Aerospace Systems Engineer to help develop flight-critical actuation systems. You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, controls, software and test engineers to deliver integrated aerospace systems across the development lifecycle.

The role offers hybrid work, exposure to system modeling, HIL testing, and leadership across multidisciplinary teams, with opportunities to influence products from concept through sustainment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
• Minimum of 3 years Electro-mechanical Systems Engineering experience.
• Experience with system modeling and simulations (MATLAB/Simulink).

Responsibilities

• Perform system requirements analysis, decomposition, allocation, and traceability for complex aerospace actuation systems.
• Develop and integrate electro-mechanical actuation systems used in flight control applications.
• Support architecture development and system-level design trade studies.
• Develop physics-based models of actuators, motors, power transmission systems, sensors, and control systems.
• Analyze system performance, stability, dynamic response, reliability, and failure modes.
• Design and evaluate control architectures supporting flight-critical applications.
• Conduct modeling and simulation activities using MATLAB/Simulink and related platforms.
• Support Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL), qualification, environmental, and functional testing efforts.
• Lead root cause investigations and corrective action implementation for complex technical issues.
