Job summary

Collins Aerospace Interiors is seeking a Structural Certification Engineer II to support showing compliance of interior components to federal and industry standards. This on-site role is based in Winston-Salem, NC, and involves collaborating with MRB, regulatory authorities, and cross-functional teams.

You will analyze, document, and repair aerospace structures to ensure safe, compliant aircraft interiors. The ideal candidate has a STEM degree with hands-on structural analysis experience,

Qualifications

  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 2+ years of experience or an advanced degree.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Experience performing static stress and fatigue analysis.
  • Experience with load paths, free body diagrams and common failure modes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analyses using hand and computer calculations, including static analysis of aerospace components.
  • Define, assess, and document repair designs for metallic, bonded metallic, and advanced composite structures.
  • Collaborate with MRB and regulatory authorities to develop standard repair instructions.
  • Analyze repair proposals and prepare formal engineering reports for internal and external customers.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams to identify cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Support corrective action and defect reduction initiatives and sustainable solutions.
  • Develop and implement processes and tools to improve efficiency across workflows.
  • Apply CORE tools and continuous improvement principles to reduce process turnbacks.
  • Communicate technical findings and recommendations clearly to leadership and customers.
