Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Engineer, Structural Engineering in Winston-Salem, NC. The role focuses on evaluating structural integrity, developing FEA models, and generating substantiation reports to support seating components and certification data.

The position requires extensive experience in structural analysis, dynamic simulations, and CAE tools (Hypermesh, LS-DYNA, Hyperview/LS-PREPOST). U.S. work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil, or related field with 10+ years in Structural/Stress/FEA roles.
• Alternatively, Master’s degree with 7+ years in related role.
• 7+ years translating problems to FEA models and interpreting results.
• 7+ years reducing testing and certification costs via FEA analysis.
• 7+ years with dynamic simulation using VATD Humanetics models.
• 7+ years CAE software experience: Hypermesh, LS-DYNA, Hyperview/LS-PREPOST.
• Non-US Person must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Analyze structural data to ensure FAA/aircraft acceptance criteria.
• Develop finite element models to aid design and certification data.
• Create substantiation reports for seating component changes.
• Provide feedback on structural substantiation to Collins design engineers.
• Develop/test procedures to obtain certifiable data for company use.
• Support Collins production during manufacturing and installation.
