Job summary

Saab is seeking 3rd shift Structural Assemblers to build the aft fuselage for the U.S. Air Force T-7A Red Hawk at our West Lafayette, IN facility. The role involves assembling aircraft structures, training new team members, and contributing to a state-of-the-art production system.

On-site training through our aerospace academy is provided with an anticipated start in early December 2026. Responsibilities include following standardized procedures to achieve 100% quality, supporting continuous

Qualifications

• 2+ years of assembly or hand tool experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Ability to select and safely use appropriate hand and power tools.
• Ability to follow standardized procedures and maintain quality.
• Strong communication, collaboration and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks; lift up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to work extended hours and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assemble aircraft fuselage structures following standardized procedures.
• Train new team members and contribute to production system improvements.
• Perform functional testing of assemblies and systems.
• Handle Class A surfaces and perform touch-ups as needed.
• Sign off completed work per specifications and support knowledge transfer to new employees.
