Job summary

Saab is seeking 3rd shift Structural Assemblers in West Lafayette, IN to build the aft fuselage for the T-7A Red Hawk for the U.S. Air Force. You will assemble aircraft structures, train new team members, and define our state-of-the-art production system.

On-site training academy provided; start date early December 2026. The role requires 2+ years assembly experience, reading engineering drawings, and ability to use hand tools.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of assembly or hand tool experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
• Follow standardized procedures with consistent quality.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Able to stand long shifts and perform repetitive tasks.
• Lift up to 25 lbs, occasionally 50 lbs.
• Willingness to work extended hours and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assemble aircraft structures per procedures and requirements.
• Read and interpret drawings and specs to install systems.
• Train new team members and share knowledge.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, and morale.
• Support testing of assemblies and systems.
• Maintain quality and compliance with ISO/AS9100 expectations.
